Checkweigher combined with a price and\/or weight labeling system is the complete solution for handling fresh food.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

By combining Teltek checkweighers with a labeling system<\/strong>, you can automatically label your products with necessary information, such as; weight, price, barcode, table of contents and information concerning allergens.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The request from the customer in this specific case was to have an adapted solution for weighing and apply labels to their range of cheeses. The cheeses have different sizes and shapes, both triangular and semicircular. This in combination with very long labels places high demands on the equipment for the label to be applied as desired. The triangular cheeses are delivered from the packaging machine with the high part leading in the transport direction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our application solution is based on the cheeses being labeled with the tip first, where the labels being applied along the cheese and the last part of the label attached on the back edge of the cheese with a blow nozzle. Since the flow is mixed with triangular and semicircular cheeses, the same application and blowing technique must also work on both shapes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We first align the cheeses between side guides. As the infeed flow is irregular, we use a start\/stop separation to deliver the products one by one to our special rotating unit where all cheeses are turned 180 degrees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the next step, the cheeses are weighed individually, and the weight is sent to the label printer. Products with weights outside accepted tolerances will not have a label applied. Instead the product is sorted out into a reject bin using a pneumatic pusher.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Label is applied to all approved products with a special wipe applicator that is adjustable in both rotation angle and application force.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once the label has been applied, two air nozzles are used to attach the label firmly to the cheese.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some batches will also have a label at the bottom of the cheese, then a bottom labeller is used with a vacuum belt applicator that applies the labels to the bottom side of the cheese before it continues along the production line.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The system reaches a speed of up to 55 products\/minute in its current configuration and current length of labels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
