The year was 1984 when the company Teltek AB was founded, but our history extends further back than that. Teltek’s origin is traced to our founder, Owe Eklund; a part-time service technician at a food company specializing in American and German checkweighers. Simultaneously, he ran his own business in the HiFi industry. In 1977, he received a request to build checkweighers from scratch and took on the challenge, a decision that laid the foundation for Teltek’s future.

The founder saw potential in producing his own, Swedish-manufactured, checkweighers and he and a friend decided to turn the vision into reality. It all started in the cramped space of his own garage and he borrowed a drill and tools from his neighbor. The request for Swedish checkweighers increased fast and soon the operation had moved to larger facilities and had several employees. In the early 1980s, Teltek saw success with the launch of the checkweigher ”Teltek 301” and in 1984 Owe decided to found Teltek AB.
